Two brides doing things their way.
At the start of the Summer I went down to Taunton to meet up with Alex and Lynsey who had booked me to photograph their wedding in September. The venue I met them at was Taunton County Cricket ground, where Alex was playing for Australia in a one day international cricket game as part of the Ashes series. I joined Lynsey (who used to play for England and who’s bestmaid was part of the current England team) who was in the crowd with some of her mates (consisting of current and ex players) part the way through the game, as I sat down (at my first game of cricket I will point out) I made the mistake of asking ‘who’s winning’, which apparently is probably the most ridiculous thing someone can say when talking about one of the first games being played in the Ashes!
Wedding in Kent.
Next time I saw them, on their wedding day (which incidentally was also mine and Lynsey’s birthdays) I didn’t mention the cricket!
They got married at The Bulls Head in Chislehurst and after the ceremony bottles of fizz were piled into a wheelbarrow and we all headed to the common to celebrate.
