Super relaxed Birtsmorton Court Wedding

Winter Birtsmorton Court Wedding.

Kate and Geoff got married back in December at the stunning Birtsmorton Court in Worcestershire, which dates back to the 13th century and is one of only a handful of places to have not one, but two moats. It has to go down as one of the most beautiful wedding venues in the West Midlands. So once again I was heading out of Staffordshire and into Worcestershire to photograph a lovely winter wedding.

When Kate had first got in touch she was living down in Cornwall (one of my favourite places, so we had plenty to talk about) and Geoff was over in Canada. I think for a lot of people, trying to plan a wedding when your other half is living in a different country would have caused a bit of stress. Kate on the other hand was very laid back about the whole thing and really wanted their wedding to reflect how relaxed they both were. Perfect.

Their relationship has survived bears (according to Geoff if you come face to face with one, the best thing to do is roar at it), one person living in the UK and the other in Canada, and a broken back.

Delphine Manivet wedding dress with pockets.

Kate wore a Delphine Manivet dress, which is the first wedding dress I’ve seen to have pockets in (how cool is that?!).

I knew that later in the evening they were having some fireworks, which was also a first for me. Allllllllll day this was on my mind, taking a picture of people with fireworks isn’t quite as easy as it sounds! At about 9pm we all ventured out into the rain for said fireworks.
Turns out I can take photos of people and fireworks.
