Here it goes

bride and groom together before going into wedding breakfast

Sandhole Oak Barn wedding.

Wedding season kicked off with Jen and Reuben getting married at the gorgeous Sandhole Oak Barn in Cheshire.

Sandhole Oak Barn is a family run business and was designed specifically for weddings. It’s in a lovely rural setting in Cheshire and overlooks it’s own lake.

Natural wedding photography.

I was with Jen whilst her posse of bridesmaids took turns in helping her to get ready, each of them seemed to know exactly what they were doing and were on hand for when it came to their bit.
Pretty impressive! This gave me plenty of chance and made it easy to float around taking natural photos of them all doing their thing.

Wedding ceremony and speeches.

After the ceremony guests played games, listened to live music and drank some fizz.

As well as there being eight bridesmaids, one bagpiper and lots of people in kilts there was also a bride who made a speech. Jen was determined to stand up and say her bit and she did just that. I personally find it really refreshing when a bride does a speech as I don’t think it’s just something reserved for the men and I’ve definitely noticed more and more brides doing this.

Enthusiastic ceilidh dancing!

What I also loved about this wedding was the evening reception entertainment – a ceilidh. Nothing seems to get weddings guests on the dance floor quite the same as a live band and a ceilidh! Everyone was up, full energy swinging around and dancing, which is great to see, however I actually got to see more than I bargained for at this wedding….when I was crouched down taking some photos of the dancing from a different angle, a wedding guest wearing a kilt swung round over the top of me……enough said!

Are you a bride planning on doing a speech? Do you want natural wedding photos of your day? Send me a message I’d love to hear about your plans!
