Manchester Town Hall Wedding

Manchester town hall wedding.

A couple of years ago I went inside Manchester town hall when the Christmas markets were on. I bought an ace jumper with dinosaurs on. (Looks waaaay better than it sounds!) I spent more time looking in awe at the building, than buying the jumper. At the time I wished one day I would get a wedding there.
On March 24th my wish came true.

The town hall is slap bang in the middle of Manchester and is regarded as one of the finest examples of neo-gothic architecture in the country. It is the most impressive venue to have a wedding.

Informal ceremony.

Sarah & Chris had an informal ceremony at the town hall (where both of their children did a reading. Full respect) followed by food and drinks at Artisan – which in their own words is, where cooking goes back to basics in the fire, with pizzas, meat and fish it is casual dining at its best. Think artist’s loft studio meets concrete warehouse: stripped back and raw.
Needless to say I was in my element!

After the ceremony as we walked to Artisan, in typical Manchester fashion the rain made an appearance. This actually provided one of my favourite ever photos of Chris holding a brolly over Sarah – who has her arm round her Dad.

I was only with Sarah and Chris for a few hours capturing their wedding as they chose my shorter coverage photography package. But in that time I think I managed to give them plenty of emotion filled photos to remember their day by.

I love Manchester and I love informal, relaxed weddings. Find out about my shorter day wedding photography package here.
