Let’s get personal!

Life of a Staffordshire wedding photographer!

So I thought I’d write a bit about me….trouble is I’m not much for writing never mind about myself! Plus I’ve just discovered that the entire series of Friends is now on Netflix and I thought that having it on ‘in the background’ whilst I tried to write this post would be a good idea. The fact that I’ve only written three lines but watched four episodes says it all really!

My thinking was that I’ve just had a week off and a break from (most things) photography which is when I thought it would be a good idea to blog about something other than going to weddings or taking photos. Obviously I love doing both of these things but I thought it might be worth sharing some of the other things I’ve enjoyed doing this year. Have a spy at my best of 2017 wedding photography here

London baby!

No that’s not me after eating too much over Christmas! (Although it might be by the end of Jan and I’ve finished off eating all the shortbread and mince pies that are left over!) I spied this down a street in Camden, London after having had the best Indian meal ever. So this one photo is lot’s of things I love; the Goonies, street art and it was on a wall (yes, I love walls) in Camden.

I ‘might’ have also paid a little visit to the Lego store in Leicester Square…

One of my favourite buildings ever, is St Paul’s. This geometric, cantilevered staircase is inside one of the West towers of the cathedral and is hardly ever seen by the general public….

It is by far one of the best things I have ever seen.

The complex design combined with the light and space made me want to look up at it forever!

Tea, cake & a critter.

As buildings go this one is also on my list of favourites, I got to have tea and cake here which there is no picture of because I ate it pretty fast!

With wedding photography now being my full time job I get to spend loads more time with this one, who I think quite likes the fact I work from home a lot!

Volunteer work.

Having a better work life balance has given me chance to get involved with two local charities. I get to use my photography in a different way supporting the Carers Hub (who exist to improve the life of carers in Staffordshire) when they have events on as well as doing some driving for Community Link (which provides transport for people requiring mobility support.)

Photography goals.

One high…getting three of my wedding photos displayed outside Windsor Guildhall.

One low…smashing my favourite lens, right before the start of the ceremony. Whoops. Praise be for insurance and back up gear. (Definite benefits of booking a professional wedding photographer!)

Cheeky holiday in Rhodes.

A couple of years ago I photographed my first destination wedding in Rhodes. I mostly remember it being boiling hot and beautiful, so when I had an unexpected week free at the start of Summer before the craziness of wedding season kicked in, I paid another visit and got to indulge in all things I love….snorkelling, reading (-The Girl on the Train) and doors.

Like doors…or walls…or tea and cake…or critters? Let’s chat, we can also talk weddings too! Contact me.
