Favourite photo of a Staffordshire Wedding Photographer.

Quirky and relaxed Staffordshire wedding.

This photo was taken at the wedding of Hollie and James* – who as soon as I met them I knew we would get on and that their wedding was going to be right up my street. They were getting married in a field, on a farm just outside Stafford and arranged it all themselves.

*Note to self, I must blog this wedding soon!! Check it out on Whimsical Wonderland Weddings.

During that first meeting with Hollie and James, Hollie mentioned that it was important to her to have a photo of the moment her Dad saw her in her wedding dress for the first time. Knowing how important this was, I made sure we worked the timings on the day so that I was there to capture this moment. We did this in the chat I have with all my couples, about a month before the wedding. We go through timings and get a plan together for on the day itself. This is when we also work out how to best use the hours of photography that they have booked.

The reason I moved to making my photography packages based on hours is that couples can use them to cover what is important to them. I didn’t want a one size fits all package as everyone is different. Some couples like to have the whole story of their wedding day captured, starting from prep until the dancing at night. Others prefer to skip the getting ready photos so that they can use their hours to get more photos of the party later on. It’s about what is important to you, not me telling you what you should have. Having packages based on hours gives you all the flexibility and you get exactly what you want photographed.

Natural, emotion filled pictures.

It wasn’t difficult in picking this as one of my favourite photos, in fact the whole wedding day provided me with so many chances to take natural photographs of people having a good time, laughter and tears, as a lot of thought had gone into creating a laid back and fun atmosphere for everyone involved.

I actually love this photo for a few reasons, I love the moment of closeness between Hollie and her Dad, I love that her Mum is crying (which she never does apparently) and the expressions on the bridesmaids faces.

I’m not afraid to admit that this photo is also one of many from the day where even having a big camera held up to my face, I couldn’t hide my tears. James’s reaction to Hollie walking towards him, very personal vows and emotional speeches before dinner…

Winner all round.
