two brides on a tube train in London

London Wedding Photographer

I love London. Don’t get me wrong, I couldn’t live there, but a few days in the capital always excites me. To get asked to photograph a wedding there is always a bonus and a real privilege. To ask a Staffordshire wedding photographer to come and be a London wedding photographer is a massive compliment. I’ve photographed weddings in London before but every time I go there I discover something new and this wedding was no exception. The first email I got from Andrea and Liz mentioned them wanting to share cake with me (In fact to quote the email ‘Our cake is going to be this and there is a big piece of it reserved for our photographer: https://hummingbirdbakery.com/collections/wedding-cakes/products/rainbow-sprinkles-cake?variant=36002829840), low-key and retro video games. I was really hoping they would book me to capture their day. We hit it off over a couple of video calls and the rest as they say is history.

Wedding photography at St Dunstans.

Andrea and Liz spent the morning together with their family and best people, I joined them ‘mid getting ready’ and we all headed to St Dunstans for photos.  St Dunstans is the ruins of a church and a beautiful public garden, hidden away halfway between the Tower of London and the City of London. Totally not what you’d expect to find amongst all the modern buildings.

Photographing a wedding in London can involve making quite complex travel plans, so I was pleased when Andrea and Liz had decided that the three if us would go on the tube together to the wedding venue. Even if I nearly missed getting on the train because I was too busy taking photos!

Natural, real, unposed wedding photography.

Not only did Andrea and Liz mention cake and video games in their first email to me, they also said that they loved my style of wedding photography. They wanted unposed, unforced photos of their wedding day and real moments capturing in a natural way. If you love my style of wedding photography I would love to hear from you! Contact me.

Natural wedding photography in London.

Photographing a wedding in London is easy really. There are no shortage of interesting places to go for a wander and have some natural photos taken. It’s easy to see why so many tourist flock to the our capital and why so many of them bring their cameras with them. Whilst they might be busy getting photos of the sites, I carry on doing my thing of floating round and blending in with your guests, capturing some unique moments along the way. London is also busy and a great place for people watching, which is something you get pretty good at, as a wedding photographer. A lot of my time is spent watching. Which I realise sounds a bit odd but it gives me chance to suss people out. I can hone in on a group of friends who might be having a lively conversation, I can pick up on peoples personalities and catch it in an image and I notice the smallest of moments between guests that would otherwise go unseen. All of this makes for great documentary wedding photography. Something that I pride myself on. You can read more about my style of photography here
